NERLEI – the Business Association of the Leiria Region – will be present at the Portugal Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka on 8 and 9 August to internationally present the “Packaging of the Future®” mobilising agenda and promote business cooperation between Portugal and Japan.
The visit to Japan, which includes stops in Osaka and Kyoto, involves institutional meetings with local entities and culminates with the presentation of one of the project’s key outcomes: the world’s lightest wine bottle (260g), developed by Santos Barosa (Vidrala Group) in collaboration with LiDA – Design and Arts Laboratory at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria. Made with up to 80% recycled glass using advanced technological processes, this bottle symbolises Portuguese innovation aimed at sustainability.
