MODAPORTUGAL presents the Portugal Pavilion uniforms in an artistic installation.
Created as part of the MODAPORTUGAL strategy – an initiative by CENIT and ANIVEC – the uniforms stand out for their minimalist and functional design by Filipe Augusto and Carla Pontes, under the artistic direction of Miguel Flor. The collection reflects the excellence of the Portuguese textile industry by incorporating sustainable materials from Adalberto and production by Trotinete.
Inspired by the Cryptomeria japonica, a tree native to both Japan and the Azores, the uniforms evoke the ancestral Japanese technique of Yakisugi, which protects wood through charring – symbolising resilience, transformation, and authenticity. The result is a visually striking set of garments that merge tradition and innovation, honouring the centuries-old ties between the two countries.

According to Luís Hall Figueiredo, President of CENIT, this is an opportunity to "show the world the best of our textile and apparel industry", reinforcing Portugal’s status as a global reference for quality, innovation, and sustainability.
