On 21 and 22 September, the Portugal Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka will host two days dedicated to the flavours of the Portuguese sea, maritime heritage, and ocean sustainability.
Docapesca – Portos e Lotas presented a special program inviting visitors to taste premium seafood products from Portugal, including canned fish, fresh and frozen seafood, and innovative aquaculture solutions. Visitors also had the chance to explore Portuguese fishing culture and tradition and experience an immersive virtual reality journey into fishing and the ocean.
This initiative celebrated the historic and contemporary ties between Portugal, Japan, and the ocean, highlighting Portugal's commitment to sustainable and traceable seafood production.
Docapesca's mission was part of a week entirely dedicated to Portugal's Blue Economy, organised in collaboration with the Fórum Oceano – Portuguese Blue Economy Cluster, the Directorate-General for Maritime Policy (DGPM), and with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Maritime Affairs and the Mar2030 Program.
